1973 Gets his diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome

1976 Receives the Yellow Kid gold medal as best Italian illustrator

The “Espresso” – The Arts – September 13, 1992 “…Madaudo the portrait engraver (he won the Yellow Kid award in Lucca as the best Italian illustrator in 1976), has by now definitely decided to follow the road to painting, excluding the graphical forms of communication that cannot be defined by the classical brushstroke on a canvas…”


1976 – 1990

His works are collected into various books by editors, such as, Garzanti, Franco Maria Ricci, Rizzoli, Novecento, Mondadori and others. One-man shows take place in Italy, Germany, Switzerland.


1990 – 1993

Various museum foundations buy his works, among which the Modern Arts Museum of Takayama in Japan.

1993 – 2007

Public collections including Olivetti’s in Italy, the AMSA Galerie's in Germany, the Yoko Civilization Research Institute’s in Japan. “Great Twentieth Century Artists” on-line dedicated to great artists of the twentieth century gives an important space to Madaudo’s works. Exhibitions take place in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan and the United States, the last one being in Milan organized by Arthemisia together with the vast show called “Ukiyoe” at the Royal Palace.

In his works he uses a sophisticated painting technique on wood, using boards prepared with natural glues and pigments, and then painting them with oil painting.
